chinese zodiac

Chinese Zodiac

It will be Chinese Lunar New Year soon on Feb 18th and 19th. It's

celebrated big time here..and at the moment it's sales everywhere in

Malaysia! Since I've been living together with them for almost my

entire life, some aspects of it are also influenced by the Chinese.

Have you ever noticed that in your blog profile it will mention what

zodiac animal you are? This is based on the year you were born

according to Chinese zodiac. It was believed by the Chinese that your

personalities somehow are also influenced by the animal you represent.

If you want to know what's yours and the history of these 12 animals,

click here. Let me know what animal you are!

Hubby and me are rats; Iqa is a rabbit while Najid is a horse. My mom

is an ox, my dad a horse. Each animal year will only come back after

12 years. Next year is Rat Year..and I'm going to be 36!If you click

to the link above, you'll find this is what they say about Rats:

"Ambitious, clever and devoted to their family. Hard-working and

imaginative. Not always sure of themselves and do not always plan for

the future. Will always stand by their friends."

Sounds like me, huh? Well, just like I don't believe much what they

say about me being a Sagittarian, I don't fully agree with these

either.. for me..it's unfair to generalize everybody who's born in the

same year. Hubby and me have different personalities even though we're

both rats. But they say, we do share certain characters. Oh,

whatever..

Recently Iqa was checking the Chinese hosroscope calendar in one of

her books. Somehow she's taking this zodiac thing a little too

seriously. She's always proud that she's a rabbit..saying rabbits are

cute, cuddly animals and loved by all. Najid, she claimed is a little

wild coz he's a horse.. always running and jumping here and there!

Then she asked about the little baby's zodiac. I had to take a deep

breath before telling her..

Hmm..2007 is the Year of Pig (or Boar)! Her response?

"What? Eeeeuuwww! Yuck! Poor baby!"(We Muslims don't eat pork, you

see!)

"Okay mom, whoever she is..I promise I'll still love her as my own

sister!"
